Women's Soccer Coach


Position Description

The Head Women's Soccer Coach is held directly accountable for the general responsibilities relating to the program: budgeting, scheduling, recruiting, training, supervising, evaluating, and performance of student-athletes and assistant coaching staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Abide by and comply with the constitution, bylaws, and interpretations of the NAIA and all NAIA, Conference, and University rules and regulations relating to the conduct and administration of the program, including recruiting rules. Report any known or suspected violations of such constitution, bylaws, interpretations, rules or regulations promptly to the Director of Athletics of the University.
  • Adhere to, respect, and follow the academic standards and requirements of the University in regard to the recruiting and eligibility of prospective and current student-athletes for the program.
  • Actively participate with and assist the Director of Athletics and any other personnel of the University in the promotion of the University with appearances before, meetings with and presentations to the general public, alumni groups, booster groups and organizations, civic organizations, educational organizations, school districts, professional organizations, churches, youth groups, and District functions.
  • Actively raise funds to supplement the University budget for team expenses as agreed upon by the Director of Athletics.
  • Make all reasonable efforts to create an environment in which student-athletes respect and adhere to the University rules and regulations. Assist student athletes in obtaining a quality education, appropriate academic accomplishments and spiritual growth.
  • Conduct devotions with players on a routine and regular basis.
    Supervise assistant coaches including compliance by such coaches with Conference and NAIA rules and regulations.
  • Participate in the instruction and coaching of student-athletes.
  • Determine scouting schedules for high school and college games.
  • Interview prospective players, their parents, and coaches.
  • Contact media, alumni, and civic groups as necessary.
    Work to integrate sports into the whole spectrum of academic life to complement the University and its mission.
  • Keep public statements complimentary to the athletic program and to the University.
  • Make every effort, working in cooperation with and support of the University's faculty, Student Life staff, and Administrators to ensure that all student-athletes' academic requirements are met.
  • Have complete knowledge of rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletic competition and maintain strict compliance therewith by the program.
  • Effectively apply experience in recruiting, training, and coaching of student-athletes.
  • Discipline student-athletes when necessary in a consistent, fair, and protective manner while motivating them to excellence.
  • Maintain a mature and Christ-like attitude by keeping emotions in control and downplaying defeats.
  • Prepare players for each game and each season with dedication.
  • Establish and maintain a frequent and systematic program of personal communication with the Director of Athletics and other members of the University Administrators, Faculty, Staff, and Student Body.
  • Organize and plan an annual camp or clinic.
  • Schedule and coordinate all transportation, meals, referees, equipment, and building needs for all team contests.
  • Assist in the organization and the planning of department events.
  • Produce reports and paperwork for the local and national awards.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Maintain professional certifications (if required).
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid Certifications.

Salary / Compensation

This is a part-time position and pays $10-15,000 a year depending on experience.
