Alumni and Development Coordinator
Position Description
The Alumni and Development Coordinator is responsible for the tactical implementation of the University's alumni relations and development programs by overseeing the coordination and implementation of multi-faceted projects and communication efforts. The Alumni and Development Coordinator actively serves alumni of Glad Tidings Bible Institute, Bethany Bible College, Bethany College, and Bethany University and is an active promoter of Bethany University.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Organizes and mails publications and newsletters to alumni and friends.
- Coordinates one major annual fundraising dinner rally.
- Coordinates the yearly homecoming event.
- Handles communication with churches and pastors.
- Manages the usage of the Pastors' Getaway Apartment.
- Assists with functions of the Capital Campaign efforts.
- Provides clerical support to the Office of Advancement such as planning and organizing meetings / calendars and fielding departmental telephone calls.
- Expedites all correspondence from the President's Office.
- Oversees and maintains records of all pledges, payments, gifts, and contributions.
- Keeps alumni rosters up-to-date and helps to facilitate active communication with various segments of the alumni population (by year, by major, by co-curricular activities, etc) in concert with the Advancement Office.
- Maintains alumni records and coordinates efforts to recapture lost alumni.
- Maintains records of alumni dependents and communicates this information to the Admissions Office to facilitate active recruitment of these dependents.
- Maintains the alumni page of the website.
- Serves as editor for the alumni pages of Bethany Today and other publications.
- Ensures that all correspondence addressed to the university concerning alumni is handled promptly and professionally.
- Greets and hosts alumni visitors.
- Coordinates the brunch for graduating seniors and works actively with current students to establish rapport as they transition to becoming alumni.
- Recruits and oversees volunteers to expand the outreach and efforts of the Alumni Office.
- Serves as a resource person for the Alumni Council and Alumni Association.
- Creates minutes and agendas of various meetings.
- Assists in identifying and recruiting key alumni to serve as Bethany representatives in local churches.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably from Bethany.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn and propose new software systems.
- Able to travel.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Capable of working independently and collegially, being self-disciplined and motivated, and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Projects a professional manner in all interactions with others.
- Demonstrates good judgment and decision making.
- Demonstrates full and enthusiastic support of the University's mission and Statement of Faith.

Salary/Compensation
This is a full-time position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience and includes a generous benefits package.
