Director of Teacher Education Program (TEP)
Position Description
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching at the Master's level and maintain a program which meets all California Commission on Teacher Credentialing standards.
Qualifications
- Terminal degree with significant professional/teaching experience;
- Ability to meet all of the employment requirements required of full-time faculty at Bethany University.
- Interest in working with undergraduate and graduate students of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to model the core values and stated outcomes of Bethany University.
- Ability to follow through with tasks in a professional and timely manner.
- Ability to assist in the development of an academic program based on planning and assessment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach 24 units a year or its equivalent as a program Director
- Represent the Teacher Education Program to the constituency (state, local, university, alumni, students)
- Recruit, screen, and recommend all faculty and college supervisors for hiring
- Recruit, interview, and staff all support positions for the program
- Develop, implement, and monitor the program budget within the guidelines established by the University
- Coordinate and evaluate all Teacher Education program personnel
- Develop strategies for recruitment and ensure and monitor their implementation
- Develop strategies for field placements and ensure and monitor their implementation
- Ensure that students are provided with a quality, up-to-date education for their professional course work
- Coordinate undergraduate subject matter competency programs in relation to CCT standards and approval
- Coordinate and ensure that candidates receive appropriate support services
- Interfacing with the university through committee assignments and other duties

Salary / Compensation
Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience; compensation includes a generous benefits plan.
