Degree Competencies
Students who complete the Psychology program at Bethany University will be able to:
- Understand human nature from a psychological, social and multicultural Christian worldview.
- Integrate their Christian faith and ethics with sound psychological and theological principles.
- Demonstrate personal maturity, growth and development.
- Apply the basis principles of human development in making recommendations about child, adolescent and adult development.
- Conduct a personality evaluation using knowledge of appropriate theories, standardized tests and a well developed set of personal insights.
- Apply scientific principles to the study and pursuit of psychological knowledge.
- Demonstrate the writing style and skills required for professional publication.
- Demonstrate the human relations knowledge and skills required for entry level positions in psychology, the human services and related fields.
- Develop the foundation for further graduate work in psychology, counseling or social work.
