MFT Licensure
Bethany's Graduate Psychology program is not only designed to equip counselors and helping professionals, but prepares people for state licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists.
Professional Board Preparation
It is of tremendous importance that the Master of Science degree at Bethany is approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. As such, our Graduate Psychology program incorporates the minimum educational requirements set forth by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. This ensures that Bethany's graduates will be eligible to pursue state licensure while maintaining a flexible, attainable, and economical program, especially for students who choose to continue working in their current places of employment or ministry.
MFT Licensure Process
While the Master of Science program meets the educational requirements for licensure in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist, there are additional requirements which must be met to obtain this license. The California law outlines a 2 year process for gaining licensure subsequent to graduation from an approved Master's program.
For students intending to pursue MFT licensure, Bethany's Master of Science in Clinical Psychology will help prepare students for these next steps. For more information about the state of California requirements for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist, go to www.bbs.ca.gov.
