School of Theological Studies

Timothy Powell, Ph.D., Associate Dean

In 1919, the first students at Bethany University's precursor, Glad Tidings Bible Institute in San Francisco, met to study the Bible as preparation for reaching a needy world with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, the School of Theological Studies forms the heart of Bethany's curriculum and the core of the University's Pentecostal heritage. By providing biblical, theological, and ministry training for all graduates of the University, the School of Theological Studies strives to prepare students for service to God, church, and society. Graduates with majors in the School of Theological Studies leave Bethany with insights and skills for ministry around the corner and around the globe.
