Cohort Model of Graduate Education

Bethany's Graduate Psychology program utilizes a cohort model. This means that students entering each fall will progress through the program as a group, taking the same classes and entering the same training stages together.

We believe that this is the most effective format for educating counselors-in-training for several reasons. The cohort venue best models for students the values of teamwork, intimacy, self-awareness, and accountability, and increases the likelihood that the Master's degree will be as formative as it is educational.

By moving through the program as a cohort, students will be more likely to find emotional and practical support from their peers, which will enable them to be successful in the program, better achieve their goals, and establish long-term friendships.

Our FACT SHEET summarizes the advantages of studying clinical psychology here at Bethany University.
