High School: Martinez played his high school ball at Calvary Temple under head coach Victor Martinez. Was a four time letter winner at CTHS in Baseball and Football and won first team all Mountain Valley honors in both sports. On the mound, Martinez was the Warriors’ ace as he averaged 12.3 strikeouts per nine innings. Was 20 for 21 in stolen base attempts as a senior.
