Urias leads Bruins with 79
Nov. 2 - The Men's Golf team traveled to San Rafael on Wednesday November 2 to play in Dominican University's tournament at the San Geronimo Golf Course. Sophomore Ben Urias had the low round for the Bruins with a 79. It was an up and down day for Urias as he had five birdies and three double bogeys. "I felt like he struck the ball well, and my short game was on, but playing into the strong wind confused me on which club to hit." Stephen Rice, the newest member of the team from Texas, shot an 81. He played a solid round until the last few holes where he struggled a few times to save par. He struck the ball well, but had a few mental break downs late into the round that ended up keeping him out of the seventies. In the three tournaments this fall, his scores have improved each time. Sophomore Mike Reynolds, who led the way for the Bruins the last two tournaments struggled a bit on Wednesday. After only being two over after the front nine, he faded on the back. Reynolds, who shot 78 and 76 the first two tournaments, has shown what is to come in the spring season.
As we look forward to the spring season, we will welcome back to the team, Junior Jorel Rance, and new member Steve Healy. Max Capestany also hopes to continue to improve his swing and scores.
