Bethany opens season in the Northwest

Scotts Valley, CA - Bethany head volleyball coach Reed Duffus announced that the Bruins' 2007 schedule has been set. The Bruins will split pre-season competition between two road trips Portland, Oregon and Southern California - before leaping into California Pacific Conference play the third week in September.
Several matches in late September and early October will feature the Bruins in action at home against non-conference NAIA opponents, Embry-Riddle University (AZ) and San Diego Christian College, with the remaining non-conference matches against NCAA Div II and III opponents.
The Bruins will play host to a four-team round-robin tournament on Oct 12-13 at Redwood Auditorium. Bethany will face GSAC notable, The Master’s College, as well as a duo of NCCAA schools, Multnomah Bible (OR) and Southwestern College (AZ).
Last year's Bruins finished the season 7-13 overall and 6-8 in the CALPAC.
The Bruins began spring practices last week which will continue through the end of April. Several spring competition dates are scheduled, wrapping up the off season with a tournament hosted by CSU Monterey Bay on April 21.
