Bruins Look Impressive in Three Game Sweep

Sept. 12- The Lady Bruins opened league play with a dominant win over Pacific Union College on Tuesday night. Taking advantage of 51 PUC errors, the Bruins were able to win the match handily in three straight sets (30-14, 30-20, 30-27). Errors didn’t come in large quantities for the Bruins as they were solid on both sides of the net, compiling big numbers in numerous statistical categories. Katie Perry had the fine tuned offense running on all cylinders as she put together a solid game with 29 assists. Leading the team in kills for a third straight game was Katelin McQueen with 7. Kara Hazen was second in kills with 6, and Brittany Francis and Angela Holme each contributed 5 kills apiece. While the Bruins were applying pressure in a well-balanced assertive attack, the dig specialists had a field day as well. Emily White who currently leads the Bruins in digs for the season, led the team with 35. Christie Holck was second on the team with 15 digs helping support White and the rest of the Lady Bruins on the defensive end. The Bruins (2-1 overall, 1-0 CalPac Conference) host Mills college on Friday night before traveling to play Holy Names on Saturday.
