Volleyball Signs Two on the Outside

Jan. 23, 2007

Scotts Valley, CA – Bethany University head volleyball coach Reed Duffus announced the signing of two student-athletes for the 2007 season. Kim Feigles (Shingle Springs, CA. /Ponderosa HS) and Treva Crocker (Aromas, CA. /Cabrillo College) have inked Letters of Intent to play for the Bruins next fall.

Feigles, a 5-8 outside hitter, comes to Bethany from Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs, CA. As a senior, Feigles was a team captain and helped lead Ponderosa to the third round of 2006 sectional playoffs, including the stunning second-round defeat of defending Div II state-champion, St. Francis-Sacramento. Feigles has played club volleyball for five years and currently plays for Gold Cal VBC.

Crocker is a 5-11 outside hitter who was team captain and co-MVP at Cabrillo College (Aptos, CA). She was also a two-time Coast Conference First Team All-Conference selection in two seasons with the Seahawks. Crocker was a prep stand-out at Anzar High (San Juan Bautista, CA) and key member of the Hawks squad that won the 2002 Central Coast Section DV championship. Crocker is a versatile all-around player who played primarily middle in her two seasons at Cabrillo, but will anchor the LS for the Bruins.

"Kim and Treva will be a welcomed addition to our offensive system. Both are smart volleyball players who will most likely play all six rotations and add the much-needed offensive punch at the antennas,” said Duffus.

Bethany will open its 2007 season in late-August, with the official schedule set to be released by early February.
