Freshman sharpshooter leads the way
Dec. 9 - While most Bethany students were heading home for the holidays the Lady Bruins were locked in a tight battle with Notre Dame de Namur University but eventually lost 58-57. Bethany lead at the half 35-24 thanks to the outstanding play of freshman guard Jillian Mooney. Mooney, a standout at local Scotts Valley High School, shot 3-4 from beyond the arc and lead all Bethany scorers with 14 pointsin only 20 minutes. Sarah Kritscher recorded her 2nd double-double of the season with 12 points and hard fought rebounds. Kritscher currently leads the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game. In the second half the Bruins gave away too many fouls down the stretch to maintain the lead and hold on for the win. After their performance head coach Dan Mooney expressed, "I am very proud of the way these ladies competed tonight. They played together and it was exciting to see some of the potential of this team." Box score
