New Adult Degree Completion Program Offered at Bethany University.
(As featured in the Scotts Valley Banner, July 27, 2005)

The school of Distributed Learning at Bethany University is delighted to introduce a newly established degree completion program in the South Bay Area! The program allows working adults to return or enter college and study only one night a week. Groups, called "cohorts" are placed together in clusters of 15-20 students, who then study together throughout the entire program. These students graduate together and often form life-long friendships. Bethany University provides non-traditional education to those who for varied reasons are not resident students. The past two years has seen a radical transformation in this key area for the University.

Also, the External Degree Program (EDP) celebrated its 10th anniversary this October and it now known as eBethany. This program was previously a correspondence program with a campus attendance requirement. eBethany now delivers courses electronically without any campus visit or attendance and promises to be an innovative trendsetter through electronic cohort delivery. The program currently has students living in many states from Maryland to Hawaii.

Now, Dr. James Stewart, Associate Dean of the School of Distributed Learning, explains that the Organizational Management major was the first program developed as it is a cutting edge area of Business highly sought after by students. The program known as "APPL", which stands for Accelerated Programs in Professional Leadership, established cohorts in the San Jose area in March, April, and May. Information Seminars are conducted regularly to provide interested people with all the information they need to evaluate the suitability of the program to their individual needs.

The School of Distributed Learning, providing non-traditional education for the University, is essentially a "University within a University". The idea is to provide full service to each student in ways that prioritize the needs of the student rather than the demands of the institution.

Please note that all information seminars are from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The location varies from time to time, and seminars are held weekly and biweekly. Please contact the School of Distributed Learning for the Seminar Schedule. Seminars are also held at the San Jose classroom site located at 1101 S. Winchester Blvd. Please call (800) 843-9410 for more details!
