  The distinction was given to schools whose business faculty had significant marketplace, consulting and business ownership experience. Bethany's business faculty (both traditional and APPL) have either consulted with or have worked for companies such as Adobe Systems, Amgen, Apple Computer, Boeing, Cisco Systems, Compaq, Hyatt Hotels, HP, Hitachi PC, IBM, Johnson-Johnson, Sun Microsystems, Visa International, Zilog, and others. Nearly all have started and owned their own businesses, including banking, business consulting, legal, market research, real-estate, and software. Many are also either licensed or ordained ministers. Moreover, they all are committed to modeling a healthy integration of faith in their professional activities and to encouraging students to do the same.

• New Adult Degree Completion Program Offered at Bethany University.

  The school of Distributed Learning at Bethany University is delighted to introduce a newly established degree completion program in the South Bay Area! The program allows working adults to return or enter college and study only one night a week. Groups, called "cohorts" are placed together in clusters of 15-20 students, who then study together throughout the entire program. These students graduate together and often form life-long friendships. Bethany University provides non-traditional education to those who for varied reasons are not resident students. The past two years has seen a radical transformation in this key area for the University.
  
  Also, the External Degree Program (EDP) celebrated its 10^th anniversary this October and it now known as eBethany. This program was previously a correspondence program with a campus attendance requirement. eBethany now delivers courses electronically without any campus visit or attendance and promises to be an innovative trendsetter through electronic cohort delivery. The program currently has students living in many states from Maryland to Hawaii.
  
  Now, Dr. James Stewart, Associate Dean of the School of Distributed Learning, explains that the Organizational Management major was the first program developed as it is a cutting edge area of Business highly sought after by students. The program known as "APPL", which stands for Accelerated Programs in Professional Leadership, established cohorts in the San Jose area in March, April, and May. Information Seminars are conducted regularly to provide interested people with all the information they need to evaluate the suitability of the program to their individual needs.
  
  The School of Distributed Learning, providing non-traditional education for the University, is essentially a "University within a University". The idea is to provide full service to each student in ways that prioritize the needs of the student rather than the demands of the institution.

• Bethany University, Cabrillo, Sign Articulation Agreement

  On July 13, 2005, the Presidents of Bethany University and Cabrillo College, Dr. Max Rossi, and Dr. Brian King, signed an articulation agreement between their respective schools to enable students from both institutions to receive acceptance of their academic work. Bethany University and Cabrillo College are hereby partnering to launch such an arrangement to facilitate the transfer of students' general education coursework between both institutions.
  
  This agreement will run continually without need for renewal but will be updated yearly. This initiative underscores the long-standing, mutually beneficial, relationship between these institutions. For years, students from each school have registered for course units on an informal basis, and now through this agreement a formal transfer pattern is available to all students.
