Bethany University Honors Vickery
As featured in the Scotts Valley Banner, May 18, 2005

On May 6, Bethany University (formerly Bethany Bible College) held a building dedication in honor of Rev. William O. Vickery. The building, located next to Vine Hill Elementary, will now be known as the William O. Vickery Academic Center.

Vickery has been a pastor with Assemblies of God for more than 50 years, and has served as the chairman of the Bethany Board of Trustees. "Thank you for the privilege, thank you for the honor. One of the things that I want to mention about those to whom we are indebted on occasion like this: there are too many to call their names, but heaven records them. Those are the faithful faculty, administrators, student body presidents and staff that have served this College and now this University, through thick and through thin."

"I tell you that it wouldn't be appropriate for me to receive any honor without acknowledging that they, too, are among the giants," Vickery said.

Bethany University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, 985 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 100, Alameda, CA 94501, (510) 748-9001. Students attending Bethany can choose from sixteen undergraduate majors, one certificate program, two associate programs and three graduate programs.
